My First Week in Cloud Mastery Bootcamp: Staying Focused and Moving Forward
One week down, and I’m feeling more determined than ever! My journey into cloud engineering is officially in motion as I complete my first week of the Cloud Mastery Bootcamp. I’ve already tackled the IT Fundamentals and Linux Fundamentals courses, and now I’m diving headfirst into the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
Accountability and Focus: The Keys to Success
One of my biggest challenges in the past has been letting small roadblocks throw me off track. A confusing concept, an error message I couldn’t immediately fix, or even just feeling overwhelmed — these were all things that could have easily deterred me from pushing forward. But not this time. I’ve committed myself to staying accountable, to push through difficulties, and to remind myself that every expert was once a beginner.
To hold myself accountable, I’ve established a study schedule that keeps me on track. I treat my learning as if it’s part of my job — because in a way, it is! Transitioning into cloud engineering isn’t just a dream; it’s a goal I’m actively working toward, and that means showing up every day, even when it’s tough.
Helpful Resources I’ve Discovered
As I navigate this learning path, I’ve come across some fantastic resources that I highly recommend to anyone looking to explore AWS and cloud engineering.
AWS SkillBuilder: One of the best things I’ve found is AWS SkillBuilder. A majority of the AWS Cloud Practitioner courses are free, which means you can get a feel for the content before committing financially. This has been a game-changer for me, allowing me to confidently move forward without hesitation.
Miro.io: As someone who learns best visually, Miro has been an amazing tool. For a minimal cost, I can connect my AWS account and automatically generate AWS architecture diagrams. This has not only saved me time but also helped me understand how to structure my diagrams — something I know will be crucial as I advance in my cloud journey.
Looking Ahead
I know this is just the beginning, but I’m proud of the progress I’ve made in just one week. With each completed lesson, I’m building my skills, gaining confidence, and reinforcing my commitment to mastering cloud security. I’m excited about what’s ahead, and I’m ready to tackle any challenge that comes my way.
If you’re considering stepping into cloud security or cloud computing in general, my advice is simple: start. Take advantage of free resources, set small, achievable goals, and most importantly, don’t let small obstacles derail you. The journey is worth it!
How do you hold yourself accountable in your learning journey? I’d love to hear about it! If you’re looking for an accountability buddy, feel free to tag me — I’d love to support and learn together!
